The Wedding Contract That Broke an Alpha

a1 (7)

The ridiculous cohabitation agreement, the sudden pressure, the hostility—none of it had really come from Logan. It all reeked of Sara. She wasn’t protecting her Alpha; she was playing him.

She wanted to engineer a union between Frostbite and Moonshadow, and I’d been nothing but a disposable pawn.

“Enough,” I said quietly, straightening to my full height. “Alpha Logan, we may have ended our engagement, but swapping brides before the ceremony even begins? That’s a bit low, don’t you think?”

I lifted a hand, pointing at Sara. “Tell me the truth. Who came up with that disgusting contract? You—or her?”

His face shifted again, the cracks widening. I saw guilt flicker in his gaze, his eyes darting toward Sara before he could stop himself.

“Who cares whose idea it was?” he snapped. “It’s done. You broke it off—deal with it. Or are you here to take it all back?”

I tilted my head, giving him a humorless smile. “No, I don’t want you. I just think someone’s been whispering poison between us. Don’t you find it strange that everything seems so… conveniently arranged?”

My gaze slid back to Sara.
