The Wedding Contract That Broke an Alpha

Chapter 3

The room fell deathly silent.

You could have heard a pin drop—or a heartbeat stop.

Alpha Logan’s face flushed red, his arrogance cracking just enough for the embarrassment to show. I doubt he ever imagined a she-wolf like me would refuse the chance to marry into his oh-so-glorious pack.

He opened his mouth, searching for something to say, but his secretary, Sara, stepped forward before he could recover.

“Alpha, don’t worry yourself,” she said sweetly, though her eyes were sharp with triumph. “A gold-digging wolf like her isn’t worth marrying anyway.”

Alpha Logan’s jaw tightened, but I saw a flicker of uncertainty behind his cold eyes. “But… the invitations are already sent. If I cancel the wedding now, I’ll lose face in front of every pack in California.”

Sara’s smirk sharpened. “Alpha, do you remember Miss Emely Collins from the Frostbite Pack?”

At once, Logan’s expression changed—the irritation vanished, replaced by greedy, glittering excitement. “Sara… are you saying—?”

Sara nodded eagerly, eyes gleaming. “Exactly. The Frostbite Pack just completed their Series B funding on Wall Street. Miss Emely, their sole heiress, is now worth billions. If Moonshadow wants to expand overseas, she’s the perfect bridge.”

Logan hesitated only a moment before his lips curved into a self-satisfied grin. “But… would Emely even agree to marry me?”

Sara pressed a hand dramatically to her chest. “Of course she would! I just received word—she’s already on her way here.”

That’s when it clicked.
