Chapter 2
It didn’t take long before the dressing room door was kicked open from the outside.
A tall, broad-shouldered man strode in, surrounded by several pack enforcers. The air shifted instantly, thick with the pressure of an Alpha’s aura. Even my wolf stirred beneath my skin at the dominance rolling off him.
“Sara,” he snapped, voice sharp. “You’re my personal secretary. How is it that even such a small matter is beyond you?”
So this is him.
I lifted my gaze and finally saw the man I was promised to since childhood.
“You’re Alpha Logan. My fiancé?”
I took a moment to really look at him. I’ll admit it—he was handsome. Six foot three, dressed in a fitted black suit that emphasized the power in his build. Strong jaw, sharp nose, messy blond hair that looked expensive even when unstyled.
A perfect picture of a born Alpha.
If only his eyes weren’t so cold when they looked at me. Like I was something he stepped in on the street.
“Alpha Logan,” I said evenly, trying to keep things civil. “It’s our first meeting, so allow me to introduce myself. My name is Diana Richardson, from—”
“No need.” He cut me off with a dismissive flick of his hand, impatience written across his expression. “I don’t care who you are.”
I had originally intended to introduce myself properly, to show him I wasn’t someone he could casually look down on. But this man didn’t even bother to pretend courtesy.
From the disdain in his eyes, it was obvious he’d already decided I was nothing but a trophy wife, a gold-digging Luna-in-name-only forced on him by his father.
“Alpha Logan,” I kept my voice calm, even. “I understand we’ve never met, and this marriage was arranged by our elders. But cutting me off before I finish a sentence is a bit disrespectful, don’t you think?”
