When Anabel found out she was pregnant, she dialed Desmond’s number to share the good news with him.
They had been married for two years without a child. Desmond’s mother had been accusing her of being infertile.
But from the other end came not Desmond’s voice, but a woman’s loud moan.
“Yes, baby! Ahhhh! F’k me harder!”
Anabel recognized the voice — it was the woman Desmond’s mother had always hoped he’d end up with.
“Ohh! Yesss! Tell me how much you hate that b!tch!” Anabel heard the lady say. It didn’t take much to guess—she had intentionally picked up the call and left the phone off the hook so Anabel could hear everything.
“She’s so disgusting. I love you more than her. You are so sweet.” Anabel heard her husband answer. She could also hear the unmistakable sound of skin slapping against skin.
That was the moment she couldn’t take it anymore. Her finger trembled as she tapped the screen to end the call.
Her heart was shattered.
Her tears turned from joy to sadness. She looked down at her tummy and rubbed it. “You will bring him back to me. You will, right?”
